Garage Project

Rob Machado is shaping surfboards.  He has always been really good with art and doing things with his hands.  Al Merrick has also been a huge influence on Rob and how he looks at Surfboards.  Now Rob is doing a project with Channel Islands Called the Garage Project.  Its basically a place where Rob can shape surfboards that come out of his Brain.   He can take a older Model that he used to ride and tweak it and make things new again.  Also He can put Art and Photos on the boards and make them Unique.   These are photos from his Launch party in Santa Barbara CI Store.

Oceanside North Jetty demo

Oceanside North jetty Demo for Channel Islands surfboards went off.  Packed Beach and overhead waves on a Saturday Morning in June.   A lot of people drooling over the boards and stoked to ride some of the new Models.

HB Pier Demo 2013

First Demo of the Summer for Channel Islands Surfboards.  HB pier was the location, and the waves were nice and small for testing out a good summer board.  New Flyer and Weirdo Ripper we the standout boards of the Day.

Active had their annual Bro-Down Showdown at Mammoth Mountain.  I had the pleasure of being the Head Judge and watching some really good snowboarding going down.   Tall Todd was there giving out Cash for ripping riders.

Handplant Holiday

JP Walker's Handplant Holiday at Bear Mountain.  JP invited his Friends and people that are good at Handplants to Bear Mt for a day of Planting.  Dale Rehberg and Myself were Team Captains.  It was a really cool event.  Thanks Sony , Bear MT and NIXON.

Family / Kids photoshoot in Tahoe

Spent the Week in Lake Tahoe with my Family.  We were there doing a Kids/Family photoshoot with the Jones Family for Burton.  I'm so happy to be able to ride with my kids, its one of the best things ever to see them love something that i love to do.  we checked out the Academy at Northstar, and I highly recommend sending someone there that wants to learn to snowboard.  Its $299 for a All Day experience that guarantees that you leave the day doing toe and heel turns.  Its such a cool setup.  there are no more than 4 people in a lesson.  I wish they had one of those places when i learned in 1990 :-).
oh, we also went to Woodward at Boreal, Needless to say my boys were freaking out.
