Woodward Tahoe, ( Boreal )

Spend the Day at Woodward in Lake Tahoe , which is right at Boreal resort.  We had a great time.  My kids love riding the park then getting into the Jump zone and getting their energy out.  It also makes for a Easy Drive home :-)

Took a few runs with my buddy Terje today at Whistler.   We were up there for the Burton Winter Sales Meeting.   Product is looking on point by the way :-)  Terje is riding the new Custom X 56 , Genesis EST bindings, and Imperial boots and AK outerwear.   The Cat has some serious board control even when he has only ridden two runs on the setup.  Ripper for life

This is a little video of my boys riding Mammoth last weekend with Billy Anderson's girls.  It was really special for me to ride around and watch them.   Over 25 years ago I was riding around with Billy Anderson and Jeff Anderson at Mammoth.   Snowboarding with your kids is the Best thing Ever :-)

Alberta Clinics

Just had a good trip to Canada.  I was up there supporting the Local Reps for Clinics at 3 awesome snowboard shops in the region.  The Source,  Unlimited, Easy Rider are all great shops up there with Great people.   I love talking to people who are passionate about snowboarding and the Product.  Sometimes the product can get a little Tech and overwhelming,  I just try to keep it simple.  While we were there i got my first look at Fresh snow this year while driving near Banff.  I'm looking forward to going up there with some more snow on the mountains.

El Nino

It has been a pretty incredible year for Fishing here in Southern California.  The water is incredibly warm this year, and that El Nino rumor is very true.  I hope it produces a epic snow winter this year here in California.   I grew up as a kid fishing with my Dad on his Boat.  He was a Scuba diver and fisherman,  he would fish for bottom fish a lot and also Abalone and Lobster.  The last two years i've been getting pretty stoked on fishing for Pelagic fish.  Good Tuna and Dorado a short distance from the coast this year has been awesome.  My freezer is Full

Surf Demo time

Surfboards are expensive,  and finding the right board is hard sometimes when your  just listening to people talk about boards.  Its best to be able to try out the right model and size for yourself.  Channel Islands surfboards has a Demo tour where you can try before you go to the shop and buy.   I really love talking to people at these demos and getting them on the right board.  The Waves have been pretty fun this summer in So Cal and most of the Demos this year saw a great turnout of people looking to find that magic board.

"into the wild" Nixon event at Woodward Boreal

Nixon put on a super cool Retailer event at Woodward Boreal.  Event is Snow , Skate and Mountain Man.   Everyone had a great time at Woodward Boreal.  Totally Board stepped up and the crew won each category and won the Overall.  It was super cool being at Boreal after the resort closed down for the year.  We had the place to ourselves.

USOPEN @ VAIL

The USOPEN at Vail this year enjoyed perfect event weather.  Sunny and no wind is perfect for Slopestyle and Pipe.   I had a blast riding around Vail with Retailers and following my buddy Joe Curtes around his Local Mountain.   We did a Minturn Mile run where we had 86 people and that was Nuts.  The Japanese riders brought the Heat and ended up taking 1st in Slope and Pipe.  Great Event.

Pow Wow

There is a really cool event in Jackson Hole called the Pow Wow.   Rob Kingwill is the man putting on this event and its really cool.   Basically its just a bunch of people (120+) getting together to ride and enjoy some cool new Shapes from the 25 Brands that are there.   The Snow this year wasn't that great, but man it was fun riding around with People and getting people stoked on riding directional shape boards.  Hope Next year there is some deep Pow Pow :-)
